There are at least two each pattern, but no more than four. There is one I didn't plan to use that only has three. After assembling 80 blocks, I decided I needed another row, but that was as big as it could get. Before we moved, I found the two fabrics I used for the front. One of my quilter friends suggested I incorporate somewhere to "rest the
eye." I did buy some solid fabric, but I could not incorporate it into
the design.I am very pleased with how it turned out, despite how busy it is. It was hard to find fabric to coordinate with so many colors, and both the wood grain and navy crosshatch are perfect. I am pleased with how pleased I am with it, given how much I loved the very different color palette of my <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2023/03/hidden-foxes-quilt.html" target="_blank">last quilt</a>. <br /><span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvwG9jGT4mvq4bbDjj5XcgFT-N2nK52J-M3iRws1Riw8zdCDoddj5du7Mx6RRPxUr3z8vA2L7PFEHfHCdyhYHwyMgdbucZT12h1voyjT1gY4BlstVLzHS2w1f18Jrdl67rkBdp5smNzb4SbAHc-UAspHcqhpLhgZvZpzw7KBrwNI0M2EnX8PTIz5ETKmk/s4168/plaid%20quilt%20back.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4168" data-original-width="3468" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvwG9jGT4mvq4bbDjj5XcgFT-N2nK52J-M3iRws1Riw8zdCDoddj5du7Mx6RRPxUr3z8vA2L7PFEHfHCdyhYHwyMgdbucZT12h1voyjT1gY4BlstVLzHS2w1f18Jrdl67rkBdp5smNzb4SbAHc-UAspHcqhpLhgZvZpzw7KBrwNI0M2EnX8PTIz5ETKmk/w333-h400/plaid%20quilt%20back.jpg" width="333" /></a></div><p></p><p>At first I thought I wanted to use a shirting fabric for the back, but when I looked in January, they were all flannels. I bought some last year but the ornament I tried to make did not end up working out. This <a href="https://bigfamilyblessings.com/christmas-gnome-ornament-craft/" target="_blank">gnome pattern</a> was intended for felt, but it was easily adaptable to foam. Using a rhinestone-like gem for the nose made it lay flatter and goes nicely with the glitter. I have no idea how I would have cut a wooden bead in half. <br /></p><p></p>Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15827780958473003779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8742047136206662162.post-71582461276383404392023-03-19T06:00:00.049-04:002023-03-19T06:00:00.216-04:00Hidden Foxes Quilt<p style="text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOwMELl6EitdD0KdJg6LPshSIATC9adVMHBbqXLPHeJ7VFgmbSptAlr32Tl00imEahsFxxdUSfCAajJB5zFZs3V-eSwpeBMi4HcXLRPXSiFiIkU_4OcBwAGFjgaCtwde1NTih9M8f0tGgqzTl6EU7Cq2FX_alwLPVrL38Nt6soXNA5HUDz6NMGLi67/s3721/fox%20front.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3721" data-original-width="3014" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOwMELl6EitdD0KdJg6LPshSIATC9adVMHBbqXLPHeJ7VFgmbSptAlr32Tl00imEahsFxxdUSfCAajJB5zFZs3V-eSwpeBMi4HcXLRPXSiFiIkU_4OcBwAGFjgaCtwde1NTih9M8f0tGgqzTl6EU7Cq2FX_alwLPVrL38Nt6soXNA5HUDz6NMGLi67/w324-h400/fox%20front.jpg" width="324" /></a></p><p>This is undoubtedly the most beautiful quilt I've ever made. I started this quilt in 2020, right after I finished the <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2020/05/fox-and-feathers-quilt.html" target="_blank">fox and feathers quilt</a>. I made a bunch of half square triangles, was not motivated to trim them, and set it aside. Then we moved again, and that managed to consume an entire year. I was finally motivated to pick it up again because I cut a bunch of triangles for another quilt, coincidentally featuring the scraps of the <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2020/05/fox-and-feathers-quilt.html" target="_blank">fox fabric</a>, and decided I should finish this quilt before starting another. <span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg8xcl1_xhW10b_W1jJHGRlkKLk58a446T2fgsUXm4PtOCv5JbE_m4o0xXRCdaff7xzHgNiCeLorwZj97ggY4AQQyJbIVYmncr5wlju4sjB-zQhqsOHLwGBmuJyhmV8nQRJub3lUgY4NaabZjkoCJsjSq8nESN5do-wcA5WUHkPFLueHMvgA8zgwRu/s3222/hunters%20star%20block.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3096" data-original-width="3222" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgg8xcl1_xhW10b_W1jJHGRlkKLk58a446T2fgsUXm4PtOCv5JbE_m4o0xXRCdaff7xzHgNiCeLorwZj97ggY4AQQyJbIVYmncr5wlju4sjB-zQhqsOHLwGBmuJyhmV8nQRJub3lUgY4NaabZjkoCJsjSq8nESN5do-wcA5WUHkPFLueHMvgA8zgwRu/s320/hunters%20star%20block.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> <p></p><p>This butterfly fabric has been in my stash for a long time, and I love the colors in this quilt, but the hunter's star design would have worked better with eight fabrics instead of six. When I picked this project back up, I flipped through my design notebook and found a lot of calculations for cutting the fabric, and the color combinations of the blocks, but I did not find a full-scale plan for the quilt top. I decided to just make the blocks and then deal with the layout. That might have been my plan all along. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrNSo6sj-8_WMMxCqcb1JRYACcJX9AuYmiprv_3qQEysl_VFGwNFuymB15SCq2RO4xp2BeSJiiPX-CoCRUUSJPpE7Ko2JsY5_LF47vkdaX2wd2OvNIFH9T8nxMx4U634-obROiMj437mcVW29IDgA28OA9xrSd15kZdACjWytZDA9cOodgvldlvqzp/s3775/hunters%20star%20back.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3775" data-original-width="2892" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrNSo6sj-8_WMMxCqcb1JRYACcJX9AuYmiprv_3qQEysl_VFGwNFuymB15SCq2RO4xp2BeSJiiPX-CoCRUUSJPpE7Ko2JsY5_LF47vkdaX2wd2OvNIFH9T8nxMx4U634-obROiMj437mcVW29IDgA28OA9xrSd15kZdACjWytZDA9cOodgvldlvqzp/w306-h400/hunters%20star%20back.jpg" width="306" /></a></div> <p></p><p>Originally, my intention was to make it a full size quilt, but I am glad I decided to scale it back. I considered making two smaller quilts, but since I did not have a recipient in mind, I didn't really want to end up with two quilts, or have to make two backs, since I probably didn't even have enough fabric left for one. I was a little wary about making a reversible quilt because I thought quilting it would be a challenge, but it worked out pretty well. I didn't have a plan for quilting until I started pinning it, and I am very pleased with the design. </p><p>Finished size: 46" x 68"<br /></p>Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15827780958473003779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8742047136206662162.post-7540573805936656472023-01-08T09:00:00.011-05:002023-01-08T09:00:00.214-05:00A Very Cross-Stitch Christmas<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5C32Isrocl7P2ydpqvTKA-Ox9WQu4YTiFR2sdVit0EC0_HWT9ESsD2rf_2m296sWvcKjOM54Vv_v8c4z_xIaHZ_-sEixuKGe1hvaBB-l-ILZ8uEmFlOvhyeT_wFPZQjeheYc_usC3qta9oykgrn38I285iEvmK2MnIP4X3i_5X3ZP43Bz9L-oU6G4/s3134/cross%20stitch%20succulents.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3134" data-original-width="2923" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5C32Isrocl7P2ydpqvTKA-Ox9WQu4YTiFR2sdVit0EC0_HWT9ESsD2rf_2m296sWvcKjOM54Vv_v8c4z_xIaHZ_-sEixuKGe1hvaBB-l-ILZ8uEmFlOvhyeT_wFPZQjeheYc_usC3qta9oykgrn38I285iEvmK2MnIP4X3i_5X3ZP43Bz9L-oU6G4/s320/cross%20stitch%20succulents.jpg" width="298" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjfmrHmDov8f4Ql3QUIp9XJT48WnCmZ60XyvfYg9TJJWDhdQG0FCZM-1pUzawnUuSbfKaCAPkim-YMiGGY5tc7aoGpvUYUHB0z5BUJ_r5vw5AW7BfrfzvnwChIRv_1tJZHbMPS6sws4CFp6gAeFSN05vNbenDxKX1_CbXROmWR3MfLcOPpDd3CLQTr/s3570/cross%20stitch%20rainbow%202022.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3570" data-original-width="2661" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjfmrHmDov8f4Ql3QUIp9XJT48WnCmZ60XyvfYg9TJJWDhdQG0FCZM-1pUzawnUuSbfKaCAPkim-YMiGGY5tc7aoGpvUYUHB0z5BUJ_r5vw5AW7BfrfzvnwChIRv_1tJZHbMPS6sws4CFp6gAeFSN05vNbenDxKX1_CbXROmWR3MfLcOPpDd3CLQTr/s320/cross%20stitch%20rainbow%202022.jpg" width="239" /></a></div><p></p><p>Amanda has a <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2017/01/christmas-ornament-exchange-2016_14.html" target="_blank">long</a> <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2018/01/ornament-exchange-2017.html" target="_blank">track</a> <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2018/01/typewriter-cross-stitch.html" target="_blank">record</a> of creating cross-stitched ornaments for our exchange. She selected the succulents because I have a bad track record with plants and managed to kill the succulents I bought earlier this year. She titled this ornament "Succulents you can't kill (a terrarium in cross-stitch)" or "How I spent 30+ hours of my life in December 2022." She estimates it actually took longer than that. I started with a toilet paper tube cut in half, then I rolled up some quilt batting scraps to fill it out and glued a pieces of brown felt to the top. Next I cut the felt to size, whip-stitched it and folded it over, then whip-stitched it to a circle to create the mug and inserted the cocoa. I rolled some felt to create the handle and glued it in place, then stitched in on. I wanted to decorate the mug, but didn't settle on a design until after I'd stitched it. (The <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2021/01/penguin-stockings.html" target="_blank">penguin brads</a> were previously used for <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2017/06/penguin-stockings.html" target="_blank">stockings</a>.) I considered using pompoms for marshmallows, but ended up rolling felt strips and gluing them in place. I was able to do it without the special weaving tool, though I'm sure that would have been easier than using tweezers. I also used masking tape to hold it in place instead of pins. This is a scaled back version of the ornament in the tutorial. When I drew out the grid, I realized it would be a rather large ornament, so I made the strips 1" wide instead. It's still 5" across and 6" tall. I machine stitched the binding to the front and then hand stitched it to the back. The binding was probably trickier than the weaving, even without the special tool. It's a very reversible ornament. I used a button to attach the ribbon instead of a grommet. This postage stamp fabric was last seen in a <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2018/12/folded-fabric-hexagon-ornament.html" target="_blank">hexagon shaped ornament</a> in 2018.<br /><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMnZ1KDL8lXrl46O0O33qWpapqtFhr67a50IgyQIH-mB-Td9mrEAqsEtGpSRdpOWJYN0A3UuAld3ZKkvuqbhhfkeyGZ8HLq5HzLseozyzC1NYPryCmrPxqhyXjRp-2RYZyPXU7fVDrOuc/s2048/woven+hexie+back.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1428" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMnZ1KDL8lXrl46O0O33qWpapqtFhr67a50IgyQIH-mB-Td9mrEAqsEtGpSRdpOWJYN0A3UuAld3ZKkvuqbhhfkeyGZ8HLq5HzLseozyzC1NYPryCmrPxqhyXjRp-2RYZyPXU7fVDrOuc/s320/woven+hexie+back.jpg" width="223" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15827780958473003779noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8742047136206662162.post-28100353255900461942021-12-04T07:00:00.032-05:002021-12-04T07:00:00.231-05:00A Trio of Sequin Balls<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidPbvpIK4QQjtArulvVK-QmZ7Av0CsVnh8iXal-VMjrnOK5ZF2njioBsLyGXKClBf2-UCFA-1sRy8xPrwTG7XP9ySjOjDKYmA2Sz8gKc02YuWdcS1Ce1QZOTLo1nrrIWFrpCpJ24X_jXw/s2048/sequin+balls.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2013" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidPbvpIK4QQjtArulvVK-QmZ7Av0CsVnh8iXal-VMjrnOK5ZF2njioBsLyGXKClBf2-UCFA-1sRy8xPrwTG7XP9ySjOjDKYmA2Sz8gKc02YuWdcS1Ce1QZOTLo1nrrIWFrpCpJ24X_jXw/s320/sequin+balls.jpg" width="315" /></a></div> <p></p><p>This is not the most original Christmas ornament design, since I made a <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2020/12/sparkly-sequin-ornament.html" target="_blank">sequin ornament</a> for Amanda last year. However, the first ornament I made did not work out, and I didn't have much more time to be creative since we were moving again and I needed to get this year's ornaments in the mail before that happened. Perhaps I will try the other design again next year and see if I can figure out where I went wrong when I have more time. As for this year, she will probably be more excited about the box I'm wrapping these in!<br /></p>Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15827780958473003779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8742047136206662162.post-54386867672264759702021-04-11T07:00:00.008-04:002021-04-11T07:00:00.231-04:00Red and Purple Purse<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8hzcwoS0TtaNIwNg8cyBOpTGyCWB55Ee7-6lZhzJvYk_4LO2DlssRuKPMFzjl70N3GJLM_hgmDYYPnEhhhvDwPG9Y7LFyfNQRFqxoQH06doKRxgQ1tsO0kDpOReUgNGTTXLgzCXGg_RU/s2048/heart+purse.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1141" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8hzcwoS0TtaNIwNg8cyBOpTGyCWB55Ee7-6lZhzJvYk_4LO2DlssRuKPMFzjl70N3GJLM_hgmDYYPnEhhhvDwPG9Y7LFyfNQRFqxoQH06doKRxgQ1tsO0kDpOReUgNGTTXLgzCXGg_RU/w223-h400/heart+purse.jpg" width="223" /></a></div><p></p><p>After Claire requested a <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2021/04/pink-and-gold-unicorn-purse.html">purse</a>, I asked if Lucy needed one too. Julie checked with her and of course she did. I expected she would want one like Claire's, but no, she requested one "all purple and red." This one is more "red and purple," but I was working with what I had to find coordinating red and purple fabrics. Most of my purples are very monochromatic, so the lining is purple. I didn't think a purple button was sufficient, so I added the rick rick. I doesn't match the button perfectly, but it adds a nice pop of purple. <br /> </p>Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15827780958473003779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8742047136206662162.post-56345393833052125322021-04-10T07:00:00.015-04:002021-08-28T16:09:32.079-04:00Pink and Gold Unicorn Purse<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgad0wAS-SvVRXrZsq2-dwaQfykTfxs0xyoU71vVaUitJlqKIZKib4xfKeoue4CQqvpTC9jNvJ3445mPaDnRdRheB2uBiwZOIRsbx4hkDVpBGRQEp1_lndWTsaPU6qWcZtqsMGX6cw2N8A/s2048/unicorn+purse.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1138" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgad0wAS-SvVRXrZsq2-dwaQfykTfxs0xyoU71vVaUitJlqKIZKib4xfKeoue4CQqvpTC9jNvJ3445mPaDnRdRheB2uBiwZOIRsbx4hkDVpBGRQEp1_lndWTsaPU6qWcZtqsMGX6cw2N8A/s320/unicorn+purse.jpg" /></a></div><p></p><p>Claire asked if I could make her a bag in this style, but with a pinker fabric than the one I <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2016/11/a-purse-with-pizzaz.html">originally made</a> for her when she liked red. I sent photos of the pink fabrics I had on hand and she chose this one with gold unicorns on it. I added some gold rick rack I had left over from my <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2009/11/tree-skirt.html">tree skirt</a>. I don't think it needed it, but I was adding rick rack to <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2021/04/red-and-purple-purse.html" target="_blank">Lucy's</a>, and I wanted to make them as similar as possible. I usually top stitch after the bag is completely assembled, but in this case I stitched the rick rack on before I sewed the two sides together and just left it at that. The magnetic closure seems to work just as well. I would've liked to find a gold or unicorn button, but that can be changed out later.<br />

Even then, I had enough for 2017-2021, so there wasn't a lot of motivation to make more, even though I had plenty of potential fabric. As it turns out, Lucy was obsessed with the mini stockings this past Christmas. I included the annual stocking as their first "Countdown to Christmas" gift, and she was sad when she didn't get another one the following week, so that motivated me to finally makes some more. I'm now good through 2028, so I've got to stop. This penguin matches the <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2017/06/penguin-stockings.html">red set</a> I made in 2017. <br /> </p>Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15827780958473003779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8742047136206662162.post-87493975978329930322021-01-02T07:00:00.004-05:002023-03-12T18:40:56.279-04:002021 Goals<p>In 2020, I completed <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2020/05/fox-and-feathers-quilt.html">one quilt</a> that was on my list of <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2020/01/2020-goals.html">goals</a> and started a second quilt that wasn't on last year's list. I did not complete it, so my first goal for 2021 will be to complete that quilt!</p><p></p><p><b>Goal 1: </b>Butterfly quilt<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB9gWq0XAyGcTuGUT5SRiqwatyY37NifbSus2f-X_5_W3xt1iwELsI26M0bzU_YxUmdEAz_tZ_6OdLqRBHX2cF1FJNKVqU92LAdMeqGByCv8U2jRzumq8rqfoK_FW5LroRHwdYFK6HOwY/s2048/butterfly+quilt+prep.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB9gWq0XAyGcTuGUT5SRiqwatyY37NifbSus2f-X_5_W3xt1iwELsI26M0bzU_YxUmdEAz_tZ_6OdLqRBHX2cF1FJNKVqU92LAdMeqGByCv8U2jRzumq8rqfoK_FW5LroRHwdYFK6HOwY/w150-h200/butterfly+quilt+prep.jpg" width="150" /></a></div><p>I settled on a design, picked out fabrics, did a bunch of math to make sure I had enough fabric, and made a bunch of half-square triangles. Then I didn't feel like trimming them (300 or so?) so that was where I stopped. In October I asked myself what would motivate me to trim them, and I decided the answer was a 6.5" square ruler. Now I am looking forward to getting back to this project.</p><p><b>Update:</b> <a href="http://crafterwithoutacat.blogspot.com/2023/02/hunters-star-quilt.html" target="_blank">Finally done!</a> <i>February 2023</i><br /></p><p><b>Goal 2: </b>Rainbow quilt</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs8RElW62KlzDogFQvV09END4jkvigCCYfgdy6oOqjJAXE0pcAuvLv1Rncxj4XJzz25YSo_tDtU8EtyeXnYO_r6xpq6amh7wAxXFTsoEHWisHMO9FhobPULAxL6o-SiW7LCVxoxkyYxN8/s2005/2019c.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2005" data-original-width="1806" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs8RElW62KlzDogFQvV09END4jkvigCCYfgdy6oOqjJAXE0pcAuvLv1Rncxj4XJzz25YSo_tDtU8EtyeXnYO_r6xpq6amh7wAxXFTsoEHWisHMO9FhobPULAxL6o-SiW7LCVxoxkyYxN8/w180-h200/2019c.jpg" width="180" /></a></div><p>This is its third year on the list.
