I'm not usually a huge fan of fussy cutting because it can be such a waste of fabric, but this block wouldn't have quite the same effect with the red star burst squares. This was the original design I came up with, but I played around with several alternatives before finally settling on it. I love the contrast of these colors! They were both fat quarters originally purchased for my Cathedral Window quilt, so I wish I had more.
