Coin Purse
I whipped up this little coin purse from scraps right before we left for vacation. Perhaps it's the reason I ended up forgetting my actual wallet! I was pleased with the results since I don't work with zippers much and my attempt to put one on a fleece did not work out.
ETA: I managed to get the zipper on the fleece!

Birthday Fabric
Amanda sent me 2 yards of this Heidi Grace print for my birthday. I love it! She must be psychic because it is one I always look at longingly and hope it goes on sale for 50% off (so I hope she used a coupon!) I am excited to make something with it, possibly multiple somethings. Birds, trees, ladybugs, flowers, hearts - it just has so many cute things combined!

D* Doll
For my birthday, Amanda made me this doll, which you are supposed to use to take out your aggression while hitting things with it and swearing. To keep this blog free of profanity, but I figure you can guess what the D* stands for. It even came with a little poem. It's supposed to be a librarian doll - can you tell from the glasses and sweater? I must say, Amanda is an amazing stuffer, as it is exceptionally free of lumps. I can never get anything I stuff to be so smooth.

154 Cranes
Over the last year, Amanda has been folding and sending me paper cranes. She numbers each one to keep track of her progress to 1,000. This is 154 of 156 (two were a little too floppy to include). They've been living in their envelopes for far too long so last night I decided to string them. This mobile consists of 10 approximately 12" strands of cranes attached to a plastic hoop with thread. She sends a crane report with each packet so I know the origin of the paper for each crane, our favorite being her library receipt for Stargirl and Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli.

Hexagon Turtle
I saw this turtle on One Pretty Thing. There was a tutorial on Craft Passion. It was just so cute, I decided to attempt the hexagons. I had never attempted hexagons and really had no desire to until I saw this little project. They came out fairly well, but I don't think I'll be attempting another hexagon project. The shell is about 3"x4". Head to tail and flipper to flipper are both about 6".

Puppy Paw Quilt
My first baby boy quilt!
As the first STAR baby, his sister got a very starry quilt. After much deliberation about how to quilt this, I decided to incorporate stars into this quilt as well.
Finished size: 36"x44"

Dragon Prototype
I was actually looking for dinosaur pattern when I found this dragon. I knew I wanted a dinosaur with ridges on its back, and this was the closest I'd found. At first I thought I would adapt it, but without the wings, it just looks like a lizard, and wings are awesome. I'm not the best at sewing from patterns, so this was just a trial to see how it would turn out. I was pleased to find scraps from my flannel quilt to use for the test. I opted not to stuff it with a bean bag. It's about 13" long and 7" wide.
