Airplane Quilt

Julie likes airplanes, so she wanted an airplane quilt for her baby. There were many options for airplane quilt blocks, but most were too cutesy. I was pleased that Art Gallery Fabrics offered the Fly with Me pattern, which is a more stylish design. Surprisingly, except for the wing piece, I didn't make any changes!

Usually I bind quilts with the back of the quilt, but this quilt really needed a white binding and since I didn't want a white back, I did a normal binding for the first time.

Finished size: 38" x 52"

ETA: My mom says the baby loves her quilt! Tyco certainly does! Julie woke up to find him making himself comfortable:

The cats have otherwise not been interested in the actual baby thus far, but who can resist a quilt?

Airplane Baby Blanket

I bought this remnant of airplane flannel a couple years ago, because I knew it would be perfect for when my sister had a baby, and now she is! I was excited to finally get to use it. I ran right out and got some orange flannel for the back. She likes orange, and it will be one of the nursery colors.

Finished size: 31" x 39"

Camera Case

I decided I wanted a less bulky camera case for my travels this summer. Since it's for traveling, I thought this airplane fabric was appropriate, and colorful! This is the first padded pouch I've made. Each side has two layers of cotton batting, so it was a bit difficult to turn, but it should cushion the camera nicely.

It's considerably slimmer than the other case:
