Halloween Stockings

I am not sure what I was looking for when I came across this fabric, which I last used in 2014 and 2016 to make treat bags for my nieces (when there were only three of them!), but I decided to use it to make some Halloween stockings for them this year. I used up all the ghost fabric making two, and then figured I might as well use up the rest of the owls and pumpkins, so I made five more for them to share with their friends. Hopefully Lucy still likes little stockings as much as she did back when I was inspired to make mermaid and unicorn stockings.

Pumpkin and Owl Halloween Treat Bags

These are the treat bags I made for the nieces this year. A yard of fabric made four bags, so I sent the extra one to Claire for her best friend, Jack. One of Claire's many costume brainstorms was that she would be a rainbow and Jack would be a cloud.

Pumpkin Card

When I found this pumpkin paper I knew I had to make book page pumpkins to go with it. Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Pin Cushion

I'm on a bit of a pumpkin kick. I found the tutorial via One Pretty Thing and thought, why not add to my pumpkin collection? I don't really need another pin cushion, but it will go nicely with my yo-yo pumpkin.

Patchwork Pumpkin

Last weekend I discovered the tutorial for these stars, and, while browsing the rest of the blog, I saw a mini pumpkin quilt. I was inspired to make my own, and here is the result:

I just love cute little projects like this! Fortunately I do not lack for little orange scraps. It will go nicely with my little yo-yo pumpkin from last year. The leaf scraps are from my New Zealand bag.

Finished size: 8.5"x8.75"

Pumpkin Cards

These are my Thanksgiving cards for this year. I know the pumpkins might be more appropriate for Halloween, but they were just too cute to pass up. They're not as intricate as last year's, since I used stickers instead of cutting out paper leaves. As you can see, I couldn't decided whether I liked the orange or green background better. When it came down to actually reading what I had written in them, I decided the orange was a better choice.

Yo-Yo Pumpkin

One of my co-workers had these adorable yo-yo pumpkins on her desk so I just had to make one! It's about 3" tall. They are super easy to make.

Try making one yourself using this tutorial.
