Green Owl

I started this project last year, when I made an orange owl as a Christmas ornament for my sister. Then I ended up using the rest of my paisley scraps on another project for her, so I didn't have any left for my owl. I finally cut into the rest of the paisley fabric for my bento box quilt, and fortunately I had a few squares left to finish this owl.

Cathedral Windows 7

This weekend I finally decided to cut up some previously uncut fabric so I'd have some more pieces for the cathedral windows.

These are the fabrics I'm using for my bento box quilt:

This one features a second square of my favorite fabric, the only duplicate so far:

I'm tempted to pair this black and white print with the colorful stripes for a future project:

Only 3 more blocks to go, and I only need 3 more squares of fabric!

Special Request

My aunt saw the folded star trivets I had made and sent me this fabric so I could make a couple for her.

Cathedral Windows 6

I started this set and Zack goes, "Oh, that project again?" It has been a while, but I needed to collect some new fabrics before I could continue.

Finishing Tyco and Cleo's quilt provided nice matches for this one:

I used some of the butterfly block fabric to complete this one:

This one came together nicely thanks to a project for my aunt and some clearance fabric:

Quilt Block #39

I am not particularly fond of this blue fabric on its own, but it looks SO good paired with other fabrics! Unfortunately, I got it quite awhile ago and now I can't find anything similar! I've been wanting to try a bento box design and I am very pleased with the results!

Quilt Block #38

I've been wanting to try a braided design, and the left over fabric from my New Zealand bag seemed ideal since it had two coordinating fabrics. However, I think the green and black looked better together in the bag.

Kitties on Their Quilts

Here is Lily on her quilt:

And Tyco on his quilt:

I was worried he was not sharing with Cleo, but apparently they're a bit possessive and she has her own blanket.

ETA: Cleo decided to check out the quilt:

Tyco and Cleo's Quilt

I made this quilt for my sister's cats, Tyco and Cleo, to keep the cat hair, and apparently puke, off the couch. (The puke was not mentioned in the original request!)

The block is a simplified version of my favorite QBP blocks. I quilted it with red thread and avoided quilting over the beige fabric.

I love the design on the back as much as I love the front! Unfortunately, I couldn't avoid quilting over the beige on the back.

New Zealand Bag

Here is the lovely tote bag I made with the souvenirs patch and zipper pull Julie brought me from New Zealand. I just looove it! I particularly love the way the handles turned out since I was originally leaning toward using eyelets, as I did with the moose and corduroy bags. Since I am not particularly adept at zippers, I decided to add a metal key chain loop for the zipper pull instead. The patch is on a pocket. The handles and the inside are lined with green, so I left a little of the lining peeking out the top of the bag to created some continuity. It will probably be my new library book bag.

Approximately 9"x5"x11"
