Clemson Clothes

Zack likes orange, so my parents sent him an orange sweatshirt for Christmas. However, since my dad bought it, it fits me better than Zack. I decided to convert it to a Clemson sweatshirt by adding iron on letters:

I also updated this converted fleece:

It really needed a zipper to make it useful, but sewing through the zipper and the orange bias tape was not working, so I got rid of the bias tape. Now that it zips, I will actually wear it.

Tiger Paw Tote

A plain orange bag became a tiger paw tote with the help of a homemade stencil and some puffy paint. I first stenciled the tiger paw and then covered the stenciled area with a thicker layer of puffy paint. It's not exactly screen print quality, but it turned out pretty well. I was also pleased with how accurately my stencil came out since the real logo (below) has so many nooks and crannies. Zack says that's because the logo was created with an actual tiger's paw print.

Clemson Hat

This was the extent of my weekend crafting. It took me about half an hour. I am always wearing Zack's Clemson hat, so, rather than spending an unreasonable amount on a hat because it has a tiger paw on it, I decided to make my own. (These patches are so handy!) He says this fleece is not Clemson orange, but it's not like I was going to find fleece in several shades of orange. Plus, it was on sale for 60% off and it has a cute tiger paw patch on it now and that makes me happy. I can wear it with the Clemson fleece jacket I made. Being orange, it probably won't get as much use as the one I made last year though.

Clemson Ornaments

These are from my ornament making spree the first year I had a full-sized Christmas tree (purchased on sale after Christmas 2006 with white, pre-strung lights and detachable pine cones! EVERYONE heard about the detachable pine cones!) I had several of these purple ornaments leftover from making ornaments for my STAR friends years ago. I had enough left for 4 sets, one of which stays on my year-round ornament display. It worked out well that Clemson's colors are purple and orange! I say I made these for Zack, but really, he doesn't care, they're for me. Aren't they adorable? Tiger paws make for a cute logo.

Clemson Fleece

My mom got me this fleece while I was living in the nice Warm South, so I never wore it much. Or at all actually; it still had the tag on it. Now that I live in the Cold North, I decided to give it a make-over. Part of the reason I never wore it was not so much the temperature, but the fact that I dislike clothing that has to be removed over one's head. Especially with fleece, it causes so much more static. I solved that problem by cutting it down the middle and finishing the edges with bias tape. It was supposed to have a zipper, and may still, if I ever find a separating orange zipper that is an appropriate length. I accented it with a little Clemson tiger paw patch that I had left over from sprucing up Zack's sweatpants and my South Carolina themed ornaments.

ETA: I finally added a zipper! It's not orange, but now I'll wear it!

South Carolina Ornaments

This is one of the Christmas ornament designs that I made for 2008. These are not particularly Christmas-themed, but it was the perfect use for the tiny South Carolina logo I salvaged from one of Zack's old visors and my little Clemson tiger paw patches.
